Life Insurance Copywriter - 60-100K

The Life Insurance Copywriter must possess the skillset for and have the constant drive to deliver copy that is better than the rest of the industry.  You will be responsible for concepting, writing, editing and proofing marketing materials for print, digital, newsletter, press releases and much more in both B2B and B2C markets. Juggle multiple projects simultaneously, while working closely with the marketing leadership, designers, project managers, external partners, product development and legal teams.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with marketing and sales leaders to develop or improve financial advisor- and consumer-facing marketing materials, including brochures, web, emails, whitepapers and much more.
  • Proactively solicits feedback on draft materials and incorporates that feedback with their own sense of what will be most effective.
  • Must be able to take complex products and create simplified and easily digested copy.
  • Continues to review and stay abreast of competitive products. Expert in explaining key benefits, features and selling points through your copy.
  • Must be a continuous learner who shares insights and knowledge with others.

Job Requirements

  • Superior copywriting skills with an agency or corporate marketing team; mastery of tone, positioning, language, and strategic development of marketing collateral.
  • Must have life insurance product copywriting experience, IUL or VUL experience strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of financial professional (B2B) and consumer (B2C) target audiences, appropriate tone, voice and effective messaging strongly preferred.
  • Digital marketing, email marketing, advertising and direct mail campaign experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong research mindset and familiarity with market research, data analysis and how to effectively incorporate into projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with marketing, design team, and product/subject matter experts to execute against creative strategy and direction.
  • Must work well independently as well as possess strong collaboration and communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and presentation skills. Team oriented, with positive energy, enthusiasm.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, multifunctional, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficient working with Excel, Acrobat, MSWord, Outlook, PowerPoint.
