The Solution Architect will assist with the design and implementation of the future state of Annexus Retirement Solutions (ARS) Annexus Retirement Data Exchange (ARDX) platform.  This is a new role which will be integral in supporting the next phase of technology for ARDX. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partners with business, product, and outsourced technology counterparts to drive and define the technical solution for large complex projects by building detailed platform architecture (e.g., technical, environmental, and security) design and specification documents, to meet business needs, considering capabilities, risks, and end-to-end system dependencies.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with other architects (enterprise, solution, etc.), SecOps, DevOps, and internal / external business area teams to facilitate tactical deliverables necessary to achieve strategic end-to-end goals.
  • Manage and partner with external technology services providers to ensure day-to-day services are provided in accordance with contract service levels across the entirety of the ARS environment.
  • Determines the appropriate pattern/style applicable for each integration, and corresponding non-functional requirements.
  • Builds logical designs and physical high-level views for each logical service.
  • Architects, designs, develops, automates, troubleshoots, evaluates, modifies, tests, deploys, and documents high quality solutions to support all aspects of ARS.
    • Work with DevOps/SecOps to maintain, improve and evolve the CI/CD pipeline(s)
    • Develop KPIs and KRIs that effectively measure operations
    • Perform thorough testing (Unit, Integration, Regression) ensuring the quality of work
  • Work as part of an Agile team as a leader and organizer using common Agile methodologies.
  • Once implemented, oversee, and ensure the enterprises platform security controls are adequately designed and effectively operating. Partnering closely with our customer stakeholders including insurance carriers, recordkeepers, trustees and asset managers to ensure that their systems and environments are maintained in accordance with the standards set in our agreements allowing our end-to-end product to be managed within service level.
  • Debug components, identify fixes, and verify remediation of code defects.
  • Carry out detailed and rational analysis to identify the root cause of problems.
  • Constantly explore opportunities to innovate and enhance the technology stack driving bottom line efficiencies and enhance control design.
  • Proactively communicate and manage risk for assigned tasks.
  • Additional ad hoc tasks related to the management of the production environments, the Annexus Retirement Data Exchange (ARDX) platform, as well as ancillary supporting systems.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years of technical architecture design experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience working with external consultants and in-house technical staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Need to be able to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills

Demonstrable Skills in/with:

  • Object oriented language(s) (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • SQL experience is a plus
  • API management configuration and best practices
  • Containerization and orchestration solutions
  • Experience with serverless system design and development
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Delivering complex enterprise software with B2B applications
  • Delivering consumer facing API / EDI endpoints
  • 3rd party engagement a plus (e.g., User On-boarding / Acceptance involvement)
